GeneralAfter a nearly year-long search, Nipissing University has appointed Dr. Kevin Wamsley as its seventh President and Vice-Chancellor. A distinguished scholar and administrator, Dr. Wamsley is currently the Academic Vice-President & Provost of St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. He will begin his five-year term at Nipissing on August 1, 2021. -

Update on Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing program – Canadore College Nipissing University
School of NursingGeneralCanadore College and Nipissing University have agreed to a progression plan for students enrolled in NURS 1027, NURS 2026 and NURS 3217, establishing that students registered in the 2020-2021 academic year have satisfied requirements to progress to the next level of study based on a completion plan that includes adjustments to future clinical courses and some voluntary lab sessions for skill development. -

Nipissing University will challenge its graduate students to do just that during its annual Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT®) taking place on Thursday, May 6 at 3 p.m. via Zoom. -
Funding for virtual and augmented reality research to support sustainable Arctic marine tourism
ResearchVirtual LearningDr. Pat Maher, Dean of Teaching and Professor of Physical and Health Education, along with colleagues from Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Japan, Greenland and the Faroe Islands, recently received approximately $52,000 CAD in funding from the Norwegian government for a research project titled Virtual and Augmented Learning: Lessons from Ex-situ Tourism.
