Nipissing University researchers Dr. Nancy Stevens, Assistant-Professor of Indigenous Studies, and Dr. Rosemary Nagy, Professor of Gender Equality and Social Justice, have been awarded a Partnership Engage Grant valued at $24,829 from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) to further their research into available supports for Indigenous survivors of sexual assault.

Nipissing University, in partnership with Brunel University London, the RTOERO Foundation and Rare Dementia Support (RDS) Canada, invites community members to explore the impact of social connections at Sip and Sonder: Connections with Self, Family, Community and the Natural Environment anytime on Wednesday, November 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, November 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the North Bay Museum.

For Dr. Patrick Maher, his entire career has focused on understanding how people use outdoor environments, and how they value or draw meaning from them. A professor of Physical and Health Education at Nipissing University, he was recently named one of the first recipients to receive the Grímsson Fellowship that will take him to Iceland in 2025.
