Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS)

The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST) Program is jointly funded between the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and Nipissing University. The OGS and QEII-GSST scholarships are designed to encourage excellence in graduate studies at the master's and doctoral levels.

    How to Apply: 

    • Students applying to or currently enrolled in a graduate program at Nipissing will apply using the application form below and submit all documents in PDF format to sgs@nipissingu.ca. Academic assessment forms and reference letters should be sent directly from the referee to sgs@nipissingu.ca
    • Students applying for admission to a graduate program at another Ontario university will apply directly to that university (links below)​. 

    Application Forms for 2026/2027 Awards:

    Applicants must use the most recent application forms. Old versions of application forms will not be accepted. 

    Eligibility:

    • Plan to be enrolled full-time in a graduate program at an Ontario university
    • Canadian citizen, permanent resident or an international student studying on a study permit
    • A- (80%) average over the last two years of study if less than two years of graduate work OR the cumulative graduate average, if more than two years
    • Have not exceeded the lifetime maximum of 6 years of government-funded awards including OGS, and awards from CIHR, NSERC and SSHRC

    Transcript Requirements:

    • Students applying to the OGS/QEII-GSST program through Nipissing University must request official transcripts from all institutions, including Nipissing University.
