Nipissing University is mourning the passing of its inaugural Chancellor, Dr. James (Jim) Stockton Redpath, who passed away peacefully on August 2 in St. John’s Newfoundland and Labrador after a courageous twenty-year journey with Parkinson’s Disease. He was 88.
Nipissing University will present honorary degrees to three remarkable individuals during its 2025 Convocation ceremonies: Olympic athlete Jennifer Jones, educator and advocate Janine Lafrenière and award-winning musician William Prince.
Nipissing University officially installed award-winning broadcaster and author Dr. Scott Russell as its fifth Chancellor in a special ceremony held today at the NUSU Student Centre. As Chancellor, Dr. Russell will serve as the ceremonial head of the institution, presiding over Convocation and acting as a key advocate and ambassador for Nipissing and its mission.
Nipissing University has appointed Dr. Scott Russell as its fifth Chancellor. The award-winning broadcaster and acclaimed author, best known for his hosting roles with CBC Sports and extensive Olympic Games coverage, will begin his four-year term on July 1, 2024.
