Nipissing announces 2014 honorary degrees
Nipissing University will bestow its highest distinction, an honorary degree, upon the following people: Rush (Geddy Lee, Neil Peart and Alex Lifeson), Giles Blunt, Dr. Donald Weaver, Dr. Mary Ferguson-Paré, Muriel Sawyer, the Honorable Frances Lankin, and Ron Jamieson. -
Student leaders recognized with Dave Marshall Leadership Awards
Each year at Nipissing University, 25 full-time students are recognized with a Dave Marshall Leadership Award. The recipients of this prestigious award have made an outstanding extra-curricular contribution to their academic program, to the campus, or to the greater community. -
Nipissing welcomes incoming Lakers with virtual New Student Orientation
Future Nipissing University students will get their first taste of what their university experience will be like during the annual New Student Orientation (NSO). This year, NSO will take place entirely virtually and will launch on Friday, July 10 with a comprehensive online orientation learning module. -
Chancellor’s Awards celebrate excellence in research, teaching, service
Each year during convocation, Nipissing University celebrates the value and importance of its faculty through the awarding of the Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in Research, Teaching and Service. Although we are not able to gather for in-person convocation ceremonies at this time, we would like to recognize and congratulate this year’s deserving recipients of the Chancellor’s Awards. -
Cheryl Sutton begins term as Nipissing University president
Nipissing University’s new interim President and Vice-Chancellor is officially one week into her role. Cheryl Sutton, the University’s former Vice-President, Finance and Administration, took over the leadership position on July 1, succeeding Dr. Mike DeGagné who served in the role since 2013.
