GeneralNipissing University is pleased to announce the following academic administrative appointments:
Dr. Nathan Colborne has been appointed Dean, Arts and Science for a five-year term, effective July 1.
Dr. Dan Walters has been appointed Associate Dean, Graduate Studies, for a three-year term, beginning July 1.
Dr. Jane Barker has been appointed Interim Associate Dean, Arts and Science for a one-year term, beginning July 1. -
Business students explore sustainability in Finland
GeneralSchool of BusinessTen students from Nipissing University's School of Business recently embarked on a transformative expedition to Finland, as part of the ADMN 3336-Special Projects (iLEAD) course. Funded by Global Skill Opportunity - Transcultural Interdisciplinary Learning Experiences (GSO-TILE), this three-credit course allowed students to explore sustainability in the world's happiest country, as ranked by the 2024 World Happiness Report. -
Scott Russell named new Chancellor of Nipissing University
GeneralNipissing University has appointed Dr. Scott Russell as its fifth Chancellor. The award-winning broadcaster and acclaimed author, best known for his hosting roles with CBC Sports and extensive Olympic Games coverage, will begin his four-year term on July 1, 2024. -

Nipissing raises over $600,000 for Student Support Fund
GeneralAlumniAdvancementNipissing University hosted its inaugural fundraising gala, An Evening at Nipissing: Together for Students, last week benefitting the Student Support Fund. The sold-out event, held at the R.J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre, marked the culmination of an eight-month fundraising campaign for the Student Support Fund, resulting in over $600,000 for the cause.
Distinguished Nipissing alumnus Anna Pearson is shaping the minds of the “adults of tomorrow”
On Anna Pearson’s first ever report card, her teacher wrote that one day, she would make an excellent teacher. That early insight has proven true. Today, Anna is a celebrated educator and the recipient of numerous teaching awards including the Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2024) from Nipissing University, the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2022) for her outstanding contributions to K-12 education, and most recently the Award for Future-Proofing Students from the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security (2025).
