​Nipissing students consistently impress as leaders, in the classroom, on campus and in the community. Recently the university celebrated 25 student leaders at the annual Dave Marshall Leadership Awards. Over the coming months, NU News will introduce each student leader to the wider community with a short article discussing their accomplishments and activities. Today, we are pleased to profile Jessie Trainor, who is working toward a Bachelor of Arts degree, with Honours in Criminal Justice, Criminology stream.

NU Reads Summer Literacy Day Camp is set to open the book on another fantastic summer of nurturing a love of literacy in children through reading aloud, one-on-one discussions and activities.

Recently, Nipissing’s Schulich School of Education held a special convocation ceremony for the graduates of the Native Classroom Assistant Diploma Program, delivered in partnership with Bimose Tribal Council in Kenora, Ontario.

Phosphorous in Callander Bay, petroleum exploration in the Niger delta, the bureaucracy of traplines in Kashechewan, and the role of Indigenous art in making on decolonizing cultural identity, environmental rights, and oral histories.
