  • Gloria Margaret Moreau Onyett Memorial Award in Education

    Established to honour the life of North Bay Normal School alumna, Gloria Margaret Moreau Onyett, the award recognizes her dedication and passion for education.

    The Gloria Margaret Moreau Onyett Award in Education will be presented annually to two students in the Nipissing University Bachelor of Education program. The award will be split equally between a first year student and a second year student and will be awarded based on academic excellence. Preference will be given to students from the Algoma Region.

  • Davies Family Memorial Bursary

    Established in memory of Bud and Neil Davies, this bursary is presented to a full-time student enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program at Nipissing University who demonstrates financial need. Complete a Awards Month application, available on Web Advisor beginning October 1. Deadline: 4:00 pm November 1.

  • The Jane Palmer Award in Education

    Established to honour the life of Jane Palmer, teacher for 36 years, several within a multicultural school, in recognition of her dedication and passion for teaching. The award is presented to a 1st or 2nd year Bachelor of Education student in the Primary/Junior division as Nipissing University. The recipient myst demonstrate financial need and academic excellence. Preference will be given to a student who is from the Manitoulin area, is creative, with some musical background Complete a Awards Month application available on Web Advisor October 1.   • Paul Nelson Memorial Award

    Recognizes a third year Bachelor of Physical and Health Education student who has developed an exemplary Coaching Philosophy in PHED 3016 - Coaching. The recipient will have clearly identified and provided the basis for his or her philosophy of coaching. In addition, the philosophy must display richness and perceptiveness.

  • Shelley Buttimor Memorial Award

    Established to honour the life of Shelley Buttimor. Shelley was a Nipissing Alumna graduating from the Bachelor of Education program in 1988. This award recognizes her passion for physical activity and her love of hockey. The award is presented to a full-time female student in the Bachelor of Physical and Health Education program. The recipient must also demonstrate academic achievement. Preference will be given to a student who currently plays hockey (competitively or recreationally). Complete a Awards Month application, available on Web Advisor beginning October 1. Deadline: 4:00 pm November 1.

  • Brook Doseger Memorial Award

    Established to honour Nipissing alumna, Brook Doseger. The award is presented annually to a graduate of the Bachelor of Education (Consecutive or Concurrent) program who demonstrates a passion for children's literature (eg. volunteer work, leadership, authorship), care and compassion for fellow learners and one who contributes to the enrichment of the Nipissing community. The recipient is nominated by his/her peers and selected by the Schulich School of Education Student Awards Committee.
