Elementary Teacher's Federation of Ontario - Near North Local Award
Presented to a graduating full-time student from the Schulich School of Education Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate Division who was highly successful in all practice teaching placements. This award is intended to be presented to a student who will pursue a career in teaching and ideally register as a member of the Elementary Teacher's Federation. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Students are nominated by the Faculty. The recipient must demonstrate financial need.

Dr. Elizabeth Thorn Award in Education
Awarded to selected students in the Primary-Junior Division of the full-time Bachelor of Education program with a minimum admittance average of 80%. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and be residents of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

William and Helen Wright Native Teaching Award
Presented to a deserving student graduating from the Schulich School of Education who expresses a sincere desire to teach in Native Communities or other remote areas of Canada. Students are nominated by the Faculty. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

Dr. Manfred Hanke Memorial Award
Presented to a full-time Nipissing student graduating from the Intermediate/Senior Division of the Bachelor of Education program. Qualified candidates must have successfully taken the Technology Enriched Teaching and Learning Course (EDUC 4766) The selected recipient is deemed most deserving by the Intermediate/Senior Division faculty and must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. The Instructor selects this recipient.

John R. McCarthy Scholarship
Established in 1994 by John R. McCarthy, former Deputy Minister of University Affairs and Deputy Minister of Education for the Province of Ontario. The scholarship is awarded to a student who graduated with at least second-class standing from either a three-year or four-year undergraduate program at Nipissing University in the preceding academic year, and who is currently enrolled in the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing in the Fall Session immediately following graduation. Preference is given to a student who has displayed leadership in student government and student affairs, made a personal contribution to the life of the University, shown a fondness and aptitude for sports, and displayed leadership and a sense of fair play in athletic endeavours. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Complete a Web Bursary application, available on Web Advisor beginning October 1. Deadline: 4:00 pm November 1.

Stan Pasko Mathematics Award
Presented to a graduating student in the Primary/Junior Division of the Schulich School of Education who excelled in the Mathematics Education course and who was graded highly successful in his/her practice teaching placements. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Students are nominated by the Faculty.

Dino and Jean Dottori Math and Science Award
Presented to the student with the highest admittance average who was a graduate of Nipissing University and who is enrolled in the Junior/Intermediate or Intermediate/Senior Division of the full-time Bachelor of Education program with Math or Science as a teachable. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

Ann Patricia Graham Memorial Award
Presented annually to a graduating female student in the full-time Bachelor of Education program who, while a student at Nipissing University, demonstrated superior leadership abilities. The recipient is selected by the Schulich School of Education.

Alan and Joyce Johnson Scholarship
Established to honour Alan (1925-1994), the first Dean of the Faculty of Education, and his wife Joyce (1925-2009), an ardent supporter of the local arts community. Two scholarships are presented to Indigenous students graduating from either the Bachelor of Education program, the Indigenous Teacher Education Program (ITEP), the Indigenous Classroom Assistant Diploma Program (ICADP), or the Teacher of Indigenous Language as a Second Language (TILSL). Recipients must intend to go on to teach in an Indigenous community, be in strong academic standing, and demonstrate financial need. The application can be found in the "Forms and Applications" section of the Student Financial Services website; deadline: March 15th. Recipients will be selected by the Schulich School of Education Awards committee. Deadline: March 15th.

J.W. Trusler Proficiency Awards in Education
Presented to six graduating students as selected by the faculty of each division, based primarily on academic achievement and for excellence in practice teaching. The number of awards for the Primary/Junior, Junior/Intermediate, and Intermediate/Senior Divisions is proportionate to the number of sections in each division.
