Tembec Citizenship Awards
Presented to selected students entering second, third or fourth year at Nipissing University with at least an overall "B" average, who are in one or more of the following categories: 1) they devote significant efforts to volunteer activities to benefit the North Bay or Nipissing University community; 2) they display admirable leadership qualities in the community, in student government, or in other student activities; 3) they actively participate in extra-curricular activities. Selection of the successful candidate is made by the Undergraduat Student Services and Awards Committee. The recipients must demonstrate financial need and be residents of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Nominations are requested from the University community(faculty, staff, and students) in October.

Talon Research Assistantships
Designed to further strengthen research as part of scholarship at Nipissing University. The awards are presented to selected 4th year students enrolled in thesis courses and/or directed studies courses dealing with research. Values depend on need demonstrated in a submitted budget, and an application is required. Recipients must also demonstrate financial need and be residents of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Complete a Web Bursary application, available on Web Advisor beginning October 1. Deadline: 4:00 pm November 1.

Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology and Technology or Biology Talon Tuition Award
Presented to two full-time students entering the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology and Technology program or the Bachelor of Science in Biology program with a strong academic record. The recipients must also demonstrate financial need and be residents of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Royal Bank Technological Studies Award
Presented annually to a full-time second, third or fourth year student enrolled in either Computer Science, the Bachelor of Business Administration (Technology Management) program or the Bachelor of Science- Environmental Biology and Technology program with a minimum average of 75%. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

J.S. Redpath Limited Award in Environmental Science
Designed to attract students to the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science or the Bachelor of Science - Biology degree program, with preference to the former. The recipients must possess a minimum 75% in his/her best six 4U, 4M final grades, and exemplify interest and involvement in extra-curricular activities. The recipients must also demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Ptarmigan Mining Award
Presented to two full-time students who have been employed within the mining sector or who are the children of a mining sector employee. The recipients must have a strong academic record (minimum 75%), demonstrate involvement in extra-curricular activities and financial need. Past recipients of the award may reapply for a second award. The recipient must also be an Ontario resident as defined by OSAP. The recipient must also be an Ontario resident as defined by OSAP. Nipissing University Alumni Advisory Board Student Life Award
Presented to a second, third, or fourth year, full-time or part-time student maintaining a minimum 70% average. The student will have contributed to one or more of the following categories: on campus clubs, volunteer community services, student government, athletic teams, or active participation in extra-curricular activities. The recipient must also demonstrate financial need and also be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

Presented to a full-time student in second, third, or fourth year of a Sociology major (minimum 70%) deemed to be most deserving by the Sociology Department. The recipient must also demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.
