Nipissing University Alumni Advisory Board Sociology Award
Presented to a full-time student in second, third, or fourth year of a Sociology major (minimum 70%) deemed to be most deserving by the Sociology Department. The recipient must also demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

Presented to a full-time student on the basis of academic merit (minimum 70%) deemed most deserving by the department of Political Science. The recipient must also demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Complete a Awards Month application, available on Web Advisor beginning October 1. J.W. Trusler Proficiency Awards in Arts and Science
Presented to a graduating student, either part-time or full-time, in each major. The recipients are chosen by the respective faculty of each major, primarily on the basis of academic achievement. Each student must have a minimum 80% average in the course used to calculate the average in his/her major. The majority of credits (24 for three-year degree students and 48 for four-year degree students) must have been earned at Nipissing University. Students with a double major are only eligible to receive one J.W. Trusler Award.

Governor General's Academic Silver Medal
Awarded for academic excellence to the student graduating from a three-year or four-year bachelor degree program in the Faculty of Arts and Science with the highest academic standing.

Nipissing University Arts and Science Indigenous Student Award
Presented annually to a second year full-time Indigenous student enrolled in an Arts and Science degree program who has a minimum overall average of 75% and demonstrates financial need. Complete a Awards Month application, available on Web Advisor beginning October 1. Deadline: 4:00 pm November 1.

Nipissing University Alumni Entrance Award
Presented to a full-time student, entering the Faculty of Arts and Science or the Faculty of Applied and Professional Studies, with a minimum "B" average (70%) on his/her best six final 4U, 4M grades, who is the child or grandchild of a Nipissing graduate. The recipient must have demonstrated participation and leadership in extra-curricular activities such as volunteer service, achievement in athletics or the arts, or other significant endeavours. The recipient must also demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Complete a Nipissing University Application for Entrance Awards, available on our website in early March. Deadline: May 1.

Presented to the full-time student who has chosen a career path in Psychology, has demonstrated outstanding research productivity, and is deemed most deserving by the Psychology Department.

Dr. Paul Kelly Scholarship in Fine Arts
Presented annually at Convocation to a deserving graduating student in the Faculty of Arts and Science with a major in Fine Arts, specializing in visual arts, who has excelled in his/her Fine Arts courses. Preference is given to a student who has expressed an intention to pursue graduate studies the following year. The recipient is selected by faculty in the department.

Carl Sanders Upper Year Scholarship
Awarded to full-time students, admitted prior to September 2022, entering second, third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program at Nipissing, with a maximum of three years eligibility. Students will receive a $500 scholarship if they attain a minimum average of 80%, $750 if they attain a minimum average of 85% or $1000 if they attain a minimum average of 90% on their top 24 credits over the previous Fall/Winter session at Nipissing. Refer to the "weighted average" link on our website for further eligibility requirements. Students in the Concurrent Education program can only hold the scholarship in their "non-Professional" study years. Students in the BSCN.SPP and Consecutive Education programs do not qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship will not exceed the value of a student's Fall/Winter tuition fees. Students may not simultaneously hold any of the following: Chancellor's Award, NU Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship, NU First Robotics Scholarship, President's Scholarship, Upper Year Carl Sanders Award or Schulich Scholarship.
