  • Provincial Chapter of Ontario IODE Award

    Presented to a student entering his/her third year of the Bachelor of Arts degree program with a major in Sociology. The recipient must demonstrate financial need. Complete a Awards Month application available on Web Advisor October 1. A letter of academic reference from a member in Sociology will be required; contact the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office for a copy of the applicable form. Selection is made in consultation with the Department. Deadline: 4:00 pm November 1

  • Robert and Ann Parsons Northern Scholar Award

    Designed to encourage North Bay and surrounding community high school students to study at Nipissing University. This award is presented to a full-time student entering the first year of a Bachelor of Arts (three year general, three year liberal or four year honours) degree at Nipissing University with a solid academic standing (minimum 75%). This award aims to recognize students who exemplify excellence among their peers in terms of academics, extra-curricular involvement and citizenship. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Complete a Nipissing University Application for Entrance Awards, available on our website in early March. Deadline: May 1.

  • Osprey Award

    Presented to a full-time student majoring in the Bachelor of Fine Art Program with a strong academic record and demonstrated financial need. Students must be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Application required.   Complete a Awards Month application, available on Web Advisor beginning October 1. Deadline: 4:00 pm November 1.

  • Ptarmigan Mining Award

    Presented to two full-time students who have been employed within the mining sector or who are the children of a mining sector employee. The recipients must have a strong academic record (minimum 75%), demonstrate involvement in extra-curricular activities and financial need. Past recipients of the award may reapply for a second award. The recipient must also be an Ontario resident as defined by OSAP.   The recipient must also be an Ontario resident as defined by OSAP.   Complete a Nipissing University Application for Entrance Awards, available on our website in early March. Deadline: May 1.

  • Royal Bank Technological Studies Award

    Presented annually to a full-time second, third or fourth year student enrolled in either Computer Science, the Bachelor of Business Administration (Technology Management) program or the Bachelor of Science- Environmental Biology and Technology program with a minimum average of 75%. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

  • Joseph and Laura McMeekin Memorial Award

    Established in memory of Joseph L. McMeekin, and his loving wife Laura McMeekin. Joseph was a nature enthusiast and a kind hearted gentleman who gave generously of his time to service groups that had an impact on children. The award is presented to a student who shows commitment and dedication to volunteerism and community service. The recipient must be enrolled in Geography or an Environmental program. The recipient must also be a resident of Ontario and demonstrate financial need. Complete a Awards Month application, available on Web Advisor beginning October 1. Deadline: 4:00 pm November 1.
