Nipissing University joins Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine
GeneralResearchNipissing University has become a Knowledge & Development Partner of Bioenterprise Canada, known as Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations opens new doors into northern Ontario for the Engine’s national network and offers the Nipissing community, including agri-food and food-tech innovators, access to mentorship, partnership and funding support available through Bioenterprise Canada. -
Research on teachers’ mental health presented on national stage

Today, Nipissing University celebrated the official launch of Rare Dementia Support (RDS) Canada, a national support service for people living with rare or young onset dementia led by Dr. Mary Pat Sullivan, Professor of Social Work and Social Gerontology. -
Nipissing professor named Canada Research Chair in Climate and Environmental Change
ResearchGeneralYesterday, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, announced an investment of more than $139 million to support 176 new and renewed Canada Research Chairs across Canada. Nipissing University is pleased to congratulate Dr. Colin McCarter who has been named Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Climate and Environmental Change and the recipient of $600,000 in funding. McCarter is an Assistant Professor cross-appointed in the Department of Geography and the Department of Biology and Chemistry in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Nipissing University.
Nipissing professor receives $1.47 million in federal funding for climate change research
Dr. Colin McCarter, Assistant Professor at Nipissing University and Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Climate and Environmental Change, has been awarded an Alliance Missions Grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) valued at $1,466,449 to further his team’s work on climate change and ecosystem restoration research.
