GeneralJune is Pride Month, a time to celebrate diversity and acknowledge the history and achievements of LGBTQ2+ communities. Due to the pandemic, North Bay Pride has postponed its typical June celebrations until September, however planning for the fall is already underway, and Nipissing looks forward to taking part and hosting a number of on-campus events. -
Letter to the community regarding the Kamloops residential school burial site
GeneralThe recent news about the discovery of a mass grave of 215 children in Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc near Kamloops, British Columbia, is deeply disturbing and a sobering reminder of these truths and devastating chapter in our nation’s not-so-distant shared history. We send our deepest condolences to the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation for this tragic loss of the children and their families. -
Nipissing receives provincial funding for innovative virtual learning projects
GeneralVirtual LearningNipissing University has received nearly $500,000 in funding from the province as part of Ontario’s Virtual Learning Strategy (VLS), managed through eCampus Ontario. The funding, announced earlier today by MPP Vic Fedeli, will support four innovative projects in virtual teaching and learning led by Nipissing.
