After a nearly year-long search, Nipissing University has appointed Dr. Kevin Wamsley as its seventh President and Vice-Chancellor. A distinguished scholar and administrator, Dr. Wamsley is currently the Academic Vice-President & Provost of St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. He will begin his five-year term at Nipissing on August 1, 2021.

The events and conversations that have transpired around the globe over the past year have highlighted the many ways in which systemic barriers and inequity exists within our society, our systems and our organizations. At Nipissing, we recognize the importance of acknowledging our shortcomings in the area of equity, diversity and inclusion and more importantly, our responsibility to take concrete action in order to create a respectful, diverse and inclusive culture where our students, staff and faculty can thrive.

Nipissing University has received notification that a member of our campus community has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual resides off campus but was in the Robert J. Surtees Athletics Centre Friday, November 13, 2020.
