Nipissing University and the City of North Bay are represented in a recently published global study that used a widely distributed plant species as a model to examine the effect of urbanization on evolutionary processes.

Skaai Davison is heading for Oxford University in England this fall to do an MSc in Embryology. She prepared herself to make this leap across the ocean by excelling in all the Biology, Chemistry and other courses she took at Nipissing University during her four years here. She made good use of specialized upper-year courses to distinguish herself from other students who are competing to get into Graduate School at Oxford University.

Nipissing University graduate, Krista Bouwman, has been selected to join a fantastic expedition to the high arctic, exploring Nunavut and western Greenland to snorkel and polar dive to scout, document and record disappearing sea ice.

A group of Biology students from Nipissing University recently got the chance to spend 10 days in western Newfoundland studying the impact of moose foraging behaviour on the ability of forests to naturally regenerate following disturbance.
