Thanks to an initiative launched at the recent Ontario Universities Fair, Nipissing University raised $5,700 for Shannen’s Dream, a First Nations charity dedicated to equal education for all students.

The Alumni Advisory Board is looking for alumni who are interested in embodying the phrase: I am a life-long Laker. There are positions available for alumni interested in taking part in guiding and carrying out the objectives of the Alumni Advisory Board.

Nipissing University’s Dr. Glenda Black, associate professor at the Schulich School of Education, and Mair Greenfield, community service learning officer at the Office of Aboriginal Initiatives, have been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Ministry of Education for a project that will support Aboriginal adult learners and their families with their transition into the Nipissing First Nation and North Bay area.
