NU Alum returns for special lecture

Dr. Sean Graham returns to his alma mater for a special lecture, titled Imperial Waves: The BBC and 1930s Canadian Broadcasting on November 29, at 7 p.m. in room A226. In the lecture, which is presented by the Nipissing District Branch of the Canadian International Council (CIC), Dr. Graham will reflect on the international evolution of radio broadcasting.

A historian of North American media and broadcasting, Dr. Graham’s current manuscript examines the early years of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and its efforts to establish its place within the North American radio environment of the 1930s. In addition, he has written a manuscript with noted expert Jean-Marie Leduc on the history of skates. He is a research affiliate in the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, where he was the William Lyon Mackenzie King post-doctoral fellow for 2015-2016. He is also an editor atActivehistory.ca and host/producer of the History Slam Podcast. Dr. Graham is an alumnus of the Nipissing University History program.
