Breakout your blue and green for Homecoming

Get out your party hats, Homecoming is a weekend like no other, with students, staff, faculty, friends and alumni all celebrating their Nipissing spirit together. Taking place this weekend, October 2 – 4, you don’t want to miss it and the time to register is running out.

This year’s events kick off on Friday, October 2, with Women’s Basketball vs. Bishop’s University at 6 p.m. and Men’s Basketball vs. Bishop’s University at 8 p.m. at the Robert J. Surtees Athletics Centre.  A new event - the Alumni Pub takes place in the Wall at 8 p.m. with The Maple Hill Project (featuring three Nipissing alumni: Doug Herbrand - vocals and guitars, Pat O'Kane - vocals and guitars and Mark Robinson – vocals)

A full day of events starts Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Alumni Homecoming Brunch.  At 1 p.m. you can enjoy Pints & Pancakes in the Robert J. Surtees Athletics Centre Conference Room, while on the field Men’s Soccer take on Queen's. At 4 p.m. the Lakers Lacrosse team hits the field versus the Guelph Gryphons in Veterans Field.

At 3 p.m. the Homecoming Tailgate party at Memorial Gardens, featuring Verdon Vaillancourt and his trio, Northfacing Folk, is simply not to be missed before the Lakers Women's Hockey team taking on Laurentian University, then Men’s Hockey team batteling RMC at 7 p.m.

Registration for Homecoming closes at noon on Friday, October 2, and will not be accepted at the event.

Tickets are just $20 for students, $25 for alumni, staff and faculty. The registration package includes everything you just read about (yes, it includes your ticket to the hockey game), plus you’ll get a concession voucher from the Memorial Gardens concession. Each registration is automatically entered into a draw to win a pair of Toronto Maple Leaf’s tickets (donated by MBNA) or a Kobo e-reader (donated by TD Meloche Monnex). 

Don't forget to pick up your registration package before you head to Memorial Gardens. No tickets will be sold at Memorial Gardens for the Tailgate Party.
