Is awarded to a North Bay and Area female student who demonstrates academic proficiency who is continuing full time studies in a program, other than in the Schulich School of Education, within the Faculty of Education and Professional Studies at Nipissing. The recipient exhibits excellent leadership skills, with preference going to a student who also demonstrates a strong work ethic, compassion and perseverance. The Amy Gervais Memorial Award
Established to honour the remarkable life of Amy Gervais. Amy was a determined, kind, spirited
nursing student who overcame many challenges in life and made time to pursue her education.
This award recognizes a mature student in their final semester of the RPN – BScN Bridging
Program who has had to overcome adversity while demonstrating strength, character, and a
commitment to pursuing nursing education. The recipient must demonstrate financial need.
Selected by the Nipissing School of Nursing. -
The Stuart Kidd Memorial Award
This award is presented annually to a deserving 3rd or 4th year student enrolled in the field of economics (Bachelor of Arts in Economics) or business administration (Bachelor of Business Administration). The recipient must demonstrate financial need. Complete a Awards Month application, available on Web Advisor beginning October 1. Deadline: 9:00 am November 1.

BSW Award for Outstanding Contribution to Professional Social Work Leadership in Northeastern Ontario
Awarded to a graduating fourth year BSW student who demonstrates an outstanding contribution to social work leadership in Northeastern Ontario. This leadership shall be demonstrated by: i. Understanding and enacting the core principles of anti-oppressive practice in a variety of ways such as: achievements in field education, academic assignments, group projects, classroom discussions, extra-curricular activities, peer mentoring and leadership; ii. Using anti-oppressive practice to promote empowerment among oppressed groups; and iii. Challenging inequality and/or oppression in their own lives and practice. The recipient, who will receive a certificate at Convocation, is selected by the School of Social Work on the recommendation of the Social Work Departmental Group.

The Beverley Charron Memorial Award
The Beverley Charron Memorial Award is presented annually to an upper-year student enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program at Nipissing University. Eligible applicants must be residents of Ontario, demonstrate financial need as defined by OSAP, and submit a short letter (maximum 500 words) endorsed by the student's Clinical Instructor and/or Clinical Professors describing the student’s commitment to patient care, professional attitude toward nursing, and the importance of compassionate bedside manner in their practice. Final approval of the recipient rests with the faculty in the School of Nursing. Complete a Awards Month application, available on Web Advisor beginning October 1. Deadline: 9:00 am November 1.
