Nursing grads present research at international meeting
A group of recent graduates from Nipissing University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, recently presented a research study at the International Meeting for Simulation in Health Care in Los Angeles, California.
The group, who also coordinated last years’Nursing Games at NU, presented a poster, titled Nursing Simulation use in Large-Scale Nursing Games. Nipissing’s Laurie Peachey is the Principle Investigator on the research, and worked with Dr. Tammie McParland on the study and on the simulation aspects of the Nursing Games.
The study revealed that participants enjoyed teamwork, the use of simulation, and working with students from other levels of study. As well, the simulation provided an appreciation for prioritization, use of information, role clarification, communication, technical skills, and teamwork.
