Homecoming 2013 – A great success

October 25-27 saw record breaking crowds at Nipissing’s annual Homecoming, and no wind, rain or snow could dampen the crowds’ spirits. There were 1,000 registered attendees, almost double from any previous year. The weekend was filled with awards, sporting events, food and more. Homecoming is a chance to meet up with old friends and make some brand new ones.The weekend kicked off on Friday night with the Alumni Awards Reception where the achievements of four graduates were celebrated with alumni awards and one individual was recognized with honorary alumni status. The night was truly inspiring.
Saturday afternoon included the sold out tailgate party, where crowds roughed the chilly wet weather for some pre-hockey game fun. Saturday night showcased the Lakers men’s hockey team with their first win of the season. They outscored UOIT 8-5 in the exciting and crowd pleasing game. Go Lakers!
