Alumni Award winners announced
Homecoming Weekend is a time to celebrate Nipissing University and the many achievements of our graduates as we welcome them back to their alma mater. This year, for the first time ever during Homecoming, Nipissing will recognize 30 graduates at a special awards reception on September 30, in the Harris Learning Library.
Nipissing is pleased to introduce a brand new award for alumni this year, the Dr. James Jamieson Influential Alumni Award, designed to recognize the outstanding achievements, present stature and future potential of Nipissing University alumni. Jamieson was one of the founding members of the Alumni Association and served as its first president, from 1973 - 1975. He served as a member of the Board of Governors from 1975 –1986. In 1981, he, along with Dr. George Zytaruk, was instrumental in the setting up of the Office of Alumni Affairs. In the early 1980s, he was made an honorary member of the Nipissing University Alumni Association.
The university will also present the prestigious Distinguished Alumni Award and the Alumni Achievement Award, both established in 1999 and 2002 respectively, and formerly announced during convocation weekend.
Tickets to this event are available online here. Tickets cost $10 for students and children under 12, and $15 for adults.
