Nipissing University and Canadore College to offer tuition waiver for youth in care
Important Information for StudentsNipissing University and Canadore College are helping to improve access to post-secondary education for youth placed in the care of the Canadian Children’s Aid Society with the launch of a new tuition waiver. Nipissing and Canadore will each offer up to five tuition and fee waivers per year to individuals currently or formerly in foster care. -
Award to honour Dr. Doug Franks
My NipissingA new memorial award honouring the life and work of longtime NU professor Dr. Doug Franks is in the works and you can help make it a reality. The Dr. Doug Franks Memorial Award will be presented annually during convocation to a graduate of Nipissing’s Bachelor of Education program who is enrolling in the Masters degree program. -
New scholarships for student-athletes
AthleticsStudent-athletes considering Nipissing University for their post-secondary education have an added incentive to join the Lakers. Nipissing is pleased to announce new scholarships worth up to $4,000 per year, for qualified students playing on a Lakers varsity team, beginning this fall. -
Ontario Learn and Stay Grant
Students accepted into Nipissing University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in North Bay are eligible to apply for the new Ontario Learn and Stay Grant. Funded by the Government of Ontario, this grant will cover the cost of tuition, textbooks, and other direct educational costs for students who commit to work in North Bay for a certain term after graduation. The program is designed to encourage students to learn and stay locally, helping to bring in-demand health care workers to communities that need them most across the province. -

Guaranteed Entrance Scholarships
Scholarship averages are calculated using your best six final 4U/4M marks (or final IB score including bonus points) completed as of June 30, 2024. All Canadian and international applicants applying directly from secondary school for September/January entry will be considered automatically for guaranteed entrance scholarships – no application needed!
