Dean of Teaching, Dr. Pat Maher elected Vice-President of ISSOTL
Nipissing University’s Dean of Teaching, Dr. Pat Maher, has been elected Vice-President (Canada) of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL) for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2022.
ISSOTL serves faculty members, staff, and students who care about teaching and learning as serious intellectual work. Through building intellectual and collaborative infrastructure, the Society supports the associational life that fosters scholarly work about teaching and learning.
“I’m proud to have been elected to this role," said Maher. "Individually, it allows me to provide active leadership and shape the field at an international level, but from a Canadian perspective. I am also pleased to be able to showcase the institutional growth that has occurred within the scholarship of teaching and learning at Nipissing University.”
While new to the VP role, Dr. Maher is no stranger to ISSOTL. In 2020, Maher was awarded a fellowship from ISSOTL that recognizes leaders who have made exemplary contributions to the scholarship of teaching in learning at the local, national, regional, and/or international levels.
Congratulations Pat!
