Undergraduate Research Conference Goes Virtual
Faculty and students engaging in scholarly debate at last year's Undergraduate Research Conference.
For many students, participating in Nipissing University’s Undergraduate Research Conference is a unique highlight of their university experience. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s 13th annual conference could not take place in its typical form, so organizers found a new way to present and celebrate student research.
Students were invited to share their research with the broader research community using the Open Science Framework, a free web application that can be used to share posters, presentation slides or art pieces.
“There is important research happening at Nipissing University and students work incredibly hard to showcase their work at this event,” said Dr. Justin Carré, Assistant Dean, Graduate Studies and Research. “Using the Open Science Framework allows students to still share their work with the broader research community, which ultimately increases the visibility of their research and celebrates the breadth of undergraduate research opportunities here at Nipissing.”
The Undergraduate Research Conference provides a unique opportunity for undergraduate students across Ontario to showcase their work in a professional setting before their peers, faculty, and the public.
