Teaching awards for three faculty members

A trio of amazing professors have earned teaching awards from Nipissing University.

Dr. Terry Campbell, professor in the Schulich School of Education, and Dr. Carly Dokis, assistant professor of Anthropology, each earned the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Jesse Davis, instructor in the School of Business, earned the Nipissing University Teaching Award for CASBU Members.

The awards were created to recognize the importance of effective teaching of faculty who play a significant role in the education of Nipissing University students.  Nominations are only accepted from past or present students.

This year, two professors received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching as the strength of the nominations made it impossible for the selection committee to choose a single recipient.

Students wrote glowingly of each recipient in their nominations.  For example:

Dr. Terry Campbell

Dr. Carly Dokis

“She is hardworking, caring and always goes above and beyond for her students…She has been both a mentor and a role model to me, and I cannot thank her enough for opening my eyes to the world of Anthropology.”

Jesse Davis

“Jesse is a dynamic and powerful communicator who possess the gift of making a complex subject understandable and enjoyable.”
Jesse’s commitment to his students is second to none.  He goes beyond the call of duty by taking an active role in assisting students with matters outside the classroom.”

“Jesse is a dedicated professor and he motivates his students to strive for excellence.”

Each recipient will receive a $1,500 prize and their name will be engraved on a commemorative plaque with the names of previous winners.
