Meet student leader Jenna Turcotte
Nipissing students consistently impress as leaders, in the classroom, on campus and in the community. Recently the university celebrated 25 student leaders at the annual Dave Marshall Leadership Awards. Over the coming months, NU News will introduce each student leader to the wider community with a short article discussing their accomplishments and activities. Today, we are pleased profile bachelor of commerce student Jenna Turcotte.
Since beginning her degree with Nipissing, Turcotte has been actively involved with the Nipissing University Business Club to help build a community among business students. Through her hard work and dedication, the club has grown to have more of a presence, regularly hosting events.
Turcotte has shown leadership in uniting students through the business club. She helped organize the A Future in Business event on campus, which entailed reaching out to local businesses, organizations and alumni to provide advice on resume techniques and post-graduation plans. This event provided business students with a great networking opportunity while engaging alumni and local partners.
Turcotte has also volunteered to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research at both the Nipissing University Student Union (NUSU) Shine Gala and Shinerama baseball tournament. Beyond this, she participated in the Big Brother/Big Sister giftwrap, the Nipissing University Open House tours, and NUSU’s Wellness Week.
Turcotte is self-motivated, hard-working, and humble. She is the kind of leader who leads by taking action. She is considerate, collaborative, and can always be found with a smile on her face.
The university community is proud to recognize Jenna Turcotte with a Dave Marshall Leadership Award in the Campus Category.
