Meet student leader Analucia Vucic
Nipissing students consistently impress as leaders, in the classroom, on campus and in the community. Recently the university celebrated 25 student leaders at the annual Dave Marshall Leadership Awards. Over the coming months, NU News will introduce each student leader to the wider community with a short article discussing their accomplishments and activities. Today, we are pleased profile Analucia Vucic, a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology student.
Vucic shows incredible skill as a researcher. Her Honours thesis explores, through semi-structured interviews, the experiences of military spouses in relation to frequent mobility and unstable employment. This research is a serious contribution to understanding the effects of tied migration for military families, and in particular, its effects on women. For a student at the undergraduate level, Vucic has quite extensive research experience.
Vucic has had a paper based on this research accepted for presentation at the Canadian Anthropology Society annual conference in Ottawa in May.
While Vucic demonstrates an outstanding ability to undertake research, it is her hunger for knowledge and her love of the discipline that impresses most. Last year she took the initiative to participate in the Canadian Anthropology Society annual conference at her own expense. While there, she was able to network and establish contacts with students and researchers from across Canada and beyond.
Vucic has contributed significantly to the quality of the Anthropology program at Nipissing University. She is a dedicated, hard-working, and passionate student.
The university community proudly recognizes Vucic with a Dave Marshall Leadership Award in the Academic Category.
