Citizenship ceremony at NU this Friday
It is certain to be a joyous and emotional morning at Nipissing University on Friday, October 13, as 61 new Canadians will take part in a Canadian Citizenship Ceremony at 10 a.m. in the Nipissing Theatre.
Each new citizen will take an oath and, be presented with a Certificate of Canadian Citizenship, and be welcomed to the land of the maple leaf.
Nipissing University president, Dr. Mike DeGagné will serve as the presiding official for the event. Other notable members of the platform party include Joanna Wesolowski, clerk of the ceremony; Anthony Rota, MP Nipissing-Timiskaming; Al McDonald, Mayor of the City of North Bay; and Dr. Arja Vainio-Mattila, Provost and Vice-President Academic and Research at Nipissing.
The Citizenship Ceremony is open to the public’ however, those receiving their citizenship and their guests will be granted priority seating.
Nipissing University is hosting the ceremony as part of Citizenship Week, October 9-15, 2017.
