NU welcomes Young Entrepreneurs Leadership Camp
The next Ron Joyce, Arlene Dickinson or Frank Stronach might be at Nipissing University this week, as the university hosts the Young Entrepreneurs Leadership Camp.Nipissing, in association with The Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound (TBC), and the MaRS Innovation Corporation of Toronto will welcome 27 high school students from the Nipissing Parry Sound region on March 25, 26 and 27.
Students will be actively engaged in a series of inter-connected exercises designed to teach them about the entrepreneurial process. These exercises include opportunity/problem identification, building entrepreneurial teams, ideation, design thinking, rapid product/service prototyping, planning, and pitching polished ideas to an evaluation panel composed of judges from the Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure, Nipissing University and more.
The event is created and administered by Bob Walpole of the TBC and part time lecturer in Nipissing’s School of Business; Dianne Davis, assistant professor in Nipissing’s School of Business, and Ryan Burwell of MaRS.
