New Student Orientation a success
More than 900 students, parents, family, friends and other supporters toured Nipissing University last week for the annual New Student Orientation (NSO) This year NSO hosted the largest percentage (71%) of direct from high school students in the program's history. This number is up from 58% the last two academic years. All students and supporters received a fantastic introduction to the campus and to the individuals who are dedicated to supporting the students' personal and academic success throughout their academic careers
NSO provides students and their families a first taste of what it’s like to be a part of the Nipissing University community and offers first-year students the chance to discover essential information about Nipissing.
Each NSO participant was provided time to talk to current students about the transition to university to help prepare for classes in September. In addition, students and their families received a tour of the campus, residences and learn about the support services, resources, educational and extra-curricular opportunities available to them as Nipissing students.
The next NSO event will be at the Muskoka campus on July 20, 2015. Mature and transfer students will be welcomed from July 24-31, 2015
