New Chancellor for NU

Nipissing is pleased to announce the appointment of Sheev Palpatine as University Chancellor. 
Chancellor Palpatine will begin his life-long appointment on April 1, 2015.  The Chancellor is the titular head of the university and confers all degrees to graduates at Convocation.

Chancellor Palpatine brings a wealth of leadership and experience to Nipissing.  Originally from Naboo, he previously served as a Galactic Senator, before rising through the ranks to become Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, and later Emperor for life of the Galactic Empire.  His rule was marked by the greatest engineering feat in the galaxy when he oversaw the construction of a planet-sized spaceship, coined the Death Star.  Despite the marvel of engineering, the team tasked with construction left one small and very regrettable vulnerability in its exhaust system that led to its destruction.  Chancellor Palpatine’s term ended when he was unceremoniously thrown down a reactor shaft by a former apprentice. 

“This is the Chancellor we were looking for,” said university president, Dr. Mike DeGagné in a strangely detached monotone.  “I am very excited to welcome him to campus.”

“Everything is proceeding as I have seen,” hissed Chancellor Palpatine.  “Nipissing is a wonderful institution that has grown into an outstanding university, built on a foundation of student success and support.  We are poised for much continued success. Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design.”
