Ebola and Operation SIRONA in Sierra Leone

The Nipissing Branch of the Canadian International Council (CIC), is pleased to present Lt.Colonel Colleen Forestier, MD of the Canadian Armed Forces for a lecture, titled:Ebola, Sierra Leone and Operation Sirona on Tuesday, February 3, from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Small Weaver Auditorium (B201). Drawing on her extensive experience in military medicine and operations involving humanitarian aid, Lt. Colonel Forestier will speak on the current Ebola epidemic in Western Africa and the efforts that have been undertaken to stop this disease.

Lt. Colonel Colleen Forestier is a Command Surgeon with the Canadian Armed Forces.  Initially posted to CFB Edmonton as a General Duty Medical Officer, LCol Forestier deployed to Kandahar in 2005 with 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Regiment.  Upon her return to Canada in 2006, she was posted to CFB Petawawa and later to Ottawa where she has served in several postings.   Recently, LCol Forestier became the Command Surgeon to the Canadian Joint Operations Command.
