Aging and animal memory on deck for Psych series

Nipissing University is pleased to welcomeDr. Diano Marrone, to campus for a special presentation, titled: Changes in animal models of memory across the lifespan.This event, taking place this Friday, April 10 at noon in room A252, is part of the Department of Psychology Speaker Series.
Marone is an associate professor of Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University.
Here is the abstract: Aging is associated with changes in memory abilities, even in the absence of pathology. The progression of these early changes may confer risk or resistance to subsequent disease, and so need to be understood better. Towards this goal, my lab studies memory-related structures in animal models of normal aging. I will present some of this research, focusing on gene expression patterns that occur with spatial learning, how these patterns change across the lifespan, and how these changes parallel what is seen in human memory research.
