Poet Chantal Lavoie speaking at Nipissing
Nipissing University welcomes poet Chantal Lavoie to campus for a special presentation, titled Where the Terror Lies: the Poetry of Chantal Lavoie, on Thursday, February 13, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. in room H104.Lavoie teaches in the English Department at the Royal Military College of Canada, where she specializes in eighteenth-century literature and women writers. Her academic book, Collecting Women: Poetry and Lives, 1700-1770, was published by Bucknell University Press in 2009. Currently she is working on women and boys in literature, both early modern and children`s literature. In addition to having placed poems in various journals, she published a book of verse titled
Where the Terror Lies in 2011 with Quattro Books Press.
The event is presented by Nipissing’s English Studies’ Seventh Annual Speakers Series.
