MESc students present their work

Recently, some Masters of Environmental Studies students at Nipissing got the opportunity to present their research to some important parties.

Nancy England, an MESc student working with Nipissing’s Dr. April James and Dr. Krys Chutko, and Dr. Rich Pyrce of the Ministry of Natural Resources – South Porcupine, presented her thesis, titled  Informing Water Management of the Sturgeon River Watershed in Northeastern Ontario:  Data Review and Isotopic Analysis, at the Mukoka Summit on the Environment. This year’s theme focused on Environment vs Economy: Resolving the Dichotomy.

Chris McConnell, an MESc student working with Dr. James and Huaxia Yao of the Dorset Environmental Science Centre as well as Nipissing’s Geography department, presented his thesis, titled The Simplified Isotope Mass Balance Approach for Headwater Lakes in South-Central Ontario, at the 2014 Joint Annual Meeting of the Canadian Geophysical Union and the Canadian Society of Soil Science held in Banff, Alberta, May 4-7.
