Lots on the go at NU Muskoka
Nipissing’s Muskoka campus is hopping! They just celebrated a student’s 90th birthday, built a home and are getting ready to open a satellite radio studio.
Nipissing’s Muskoka campus recently celebrated the birthday of the university's oldest active student. Ed Salai turned 90 years old this month. He is working towards completing is bachelor degree in Child and Family Studies. Salai brings a tremendous amount of dedication and commitment to his studies and inspires everyone around him to put their best effort forward. Happy Birthday Ed!
A group of 10 students from the Muskoka Campus volunteered with the Muskoka branch of Habitat for Humanity this past weekend. Braving cold temperatures and snow squalls, the students worked outside from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help finish a home for a very deserving family.
On November 28, the Muskoka Campus and Hunters Bay Radio will be celebrating the opening of the Hunters Bay Radio Nipissing University satellite studio. The Muskoka Campus is pleased to be the home of the new Hunters Bay Radio satellite studio. This continued partnership with Hunters Bay Radio allows Nipissing University’s Muskoka Campus radio program, The Campus Beat, to provide quality spoken word programming, highlighting the work of Nipissing students and faculty, as well as members of the Muskoka community.
This dedicated space, while enhancing Hunters Bay Radio’s presence in Bracebridge and beyond, provides Nipissing University with an opportunity to invite both new and existing community stakeholders into our facility thereby raising the profile of the Muskoka Campus.
Faculty, staff and students, along with Hunters Bay Radio management and on air personalities, including MP Tony Clement, will officially open the Hunters Bay Radio Nipissing University Studio.
