International Food Festival at Nipissing
Notify your taste buds, North Bay, Nipissing University is offering a culinary trip around the world this Saturday, March 22, at the annual International Food Festival.
Running from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Wall (100 College Drive), the festival features a sampling of dishes from all over the world, as well as music, a martial arts demonstration, and a silent auction, all while raising funds to help refugee students attend university.
This year’s Food Fest features 40 different dishes available for sampling, as well as a door prize draw.
Volunteers will be serving up international culinary creations while supplies last, so be sure to arrive early to avoid disappointment and hunger.
Tickets cost $10 for eight food samples and are available at the door. All proceeds support Nipissing’s World University Service Committee (WUSC) Student Refugee Sponsorship Program.
The International Food Fest is an annual fundraising event for the WUSC Student Refugee Sponsorship Program. To date, this program has enabled three refugee students to obtain an education at Nipissing University. With the monies raised at the Food Fest, Nipissing is able to continue to provide refugee students with opportunities for post-secondary education.
