History Seminar Series explores gender and superstition
Join us this Friday March 7 at 2:30 p.m. in Room A252 as the History Seminar Series welcomes Mr. Ian Laplante and his presentation "'Fire Walk with Me': Gender, Superstition and the Tragedy of Bridget Cleary."The paper explores the meaning of the 1895 murder of an Irish woman, Bridget Cleary, by her husband, who claimed she was a changeling. Mr. Laplante, a graduate of Nipissing's BA and MA programs, is currently writing his doctoral dissertation on the Cleary case in the Department of History at York University in Toronto.
