Brantford pasta lunch helping to fund Italy trip
Students at Nipissing’s Brantford campus who are heading to Italy in May for an international placement, recently organized a pasta lunch fundraiser to purchase teaching supplies and gifts for the associate teachers in Italy.
The event was very successful, with students, staff, faculty, community and family members all taking part and enjoying the delicious pasta, meatballs, and garlic bread, generously provided at cost by Gran Sasso Restaurant in Brantford.
To help set the scene, the Wellington Street building was decorated in an Italian theme and filled with Italian music. One student even wore a traditional Italian costume.
All members of the Italy trip contributed their time to help before and during the event. The faculty facilitators for the Italy practicum are Dr. Kim Eyre, Dr. Susan Elliott-Johns and Dr. Maria Cantalini-Williams.
Special thanks are extended to Darius Sookram and the staff for assisting with this event.
