Welcome visiting scholars
Nipissing University is pleased to welcome visiting scholars Dr. Blanca Garcia and Dr. Soumaya Ben Dhaou.Dr. Garcia is taking her sabbatical to work at Nipissing with Dr. David Hemsworth, professor in the School of Business, on a internationally funded project, Compassion fatigue and satisfaction, resilience, stress and burnout in nurses.
Dr. Blanca García-Rivera has worked as a researcher, manager, professor and consultant. She earned a BSIE, an MBA and PhD in Business from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico, D.F. She has been active in the International Association for the Management of Technology, The Academy of Human Resource Development and The Academy of Management in Mexico´s chapter. In addition to working in a variety of industries, Dr. Garcia has presented and published on several topics around her teaching areas of Human Factors. At last count, she had logged three books and somewhere over 15 articles and 50 professional presentations. She has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level at the University of Baja California where she also resides.
Dr. Soumaya Ben Dhaou has completed her PhD in information systems from the joint program in business administration at the University of Quebec in Montreal in affiliation with Concordia University, HEC Montreal and McGill University. She also obtained a doctorate in management from the University of Paris-Dauphine in France. Her research and teaching focus on management of information systems, business and strategic management and qualitative methodology. Her research interests include innovation, information system, e-business and e-commerce, organizational transformation, organizational and dynamic capabilities.
