Sobey Art Award Winner speaking at Nipissing
Nipissing University’s department of Fine and Performing Arts is pleased to announce that Duane Linklater, winner of the 2013 Sobey Art Award, will be speaking at Nipissing University about his work on November 1, 10 a.m. at the Monastery.Duane Linklater is Omaskêko Cree, from Moose Cree First Nation in Northern Ontario. He produces a range of work including video and film installation, performance, sculptural objects, and often works within the contexts of cooperative and collaborative gestures. Linklater has exhibited and screened his work nationally and internationally.
The Sobey Art Award is the pre-eminent award for Canadian artists under forty.
