Party in Brantford

Nipissing University celebrated its birthday yesterday with a party at the Brantford campus to mark 20 years as a university and a decade of education in Brantford.The event was part of the university’s year-long celebrations to recognize its 20th Anniversary as a degree granting institution. The occasion also marks the 10 year anniversary of Nipissing’s Brantford Campus.
The amazing community support that Nipissing has enjoyed in Brantford was on full display. By all accounts the party was a great success, with 200 well-wishers and partygoers enjoying themselves and celebrating all things Nipissing. The event featured music performed by Nipissing students and faculty, refreshments and some great speeches that touched on Nipissing’s past, present and future, as well as the impact and value of education to individuals and to communities.
Event highlights included a rendition of Happy Birthday, sung by Nipissing University Student Ambassadors, and Colleen Miller, a member of Nipissing’s Board of Governors and the Anniversary Celebrations Co-Chair being named an honorary alumna by the Nipissing University Alumni Advisory Board.
