Common Book film screening and panel discussion
As part of the Common Book Common Ground program, Nipissing University is pleased to announce a special screening of the filmBeyond the Shadows, and a panel discussion on Friday, October 4, at 1 p.m. in the Vittorio Fedeli Business Centre (room F210).The film is a thought-provoking and very moving account of the residential school system and its aftermath.
This year’s selection for the Common Book Common Ground program isSpeaking My Truth: Reflections on Reconciliation and Residential Schools.
The guest panel is comprised of Shelagh Rogers (Nipissing honorary degree recipient, CBC radio personality and one of the editors of Speaking My Truth), Glen Lowry (one of the editors of Speaking My Truth) and Roger Chum (counselor with the First Peoples’ Centre at Canadore College). Nipissing’s student services counselors will be at the event.
