Celebrate International Day of Forests
The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed March 21, International Day of Forests. The day is intended to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests. In North Bay, the celebration takes root at Chumbolly's on Lakeshore Drive at 5:30 p.m. with a pre-dinner social, followed by a three course dinner. The cost to attend is $45. Your attendance will support Environmental Education in Schools in Nepal.Fred Pinto, former President of the Canadian Institute of Forestry, will give an overview of Forests without Borders, a registered charity in Canada established by members of the Canadian Institute of Forestry.
Nipissing University Biologist, Dr. Bharat Pokharel, will describe the Forests without Borders project in Nepal, which focuses on forestry and environmental education in schools.
