Lakers coach named OCAA West coach of the year

Nipissing Lakers head coach Eric Yung was named the OCAA West coach of the year and is nominated for the Canadian Colleges Athletics Association coach of the year. The second-year head coach inspired his team to a five-game improvement on its regular season record from a season ago. Yung, a graduate of Nipissing who was an accomplished student athlete, has a trio of players recognized as OCAA West first-team all-stars, including Taylor Bielby (Barrie, Ont.), Scott Coulthard (Wingham, Ont.) and Frankie Edgecombe (Elmvale, Ont.).The Men’s Volleyball team won the Silver medal in OCAA Championships that took place last weekend in the newly expanded Robert J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre.
