School of Business students and SIFE give back

Nipissing’s newest club, SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) was successful in getting the NU community to “get their POOK on” to warm the hearts, heads and hands of those in need this winter. The group donated $800 worth of socks, scarves, mittens, hats, blankets, gift cards and goodies for families in need through the North Bay organization LIPI (Low Income People Involvement of Nipissing).
SIFE is an international non-profit organization that bringstogether a diverse network of university students, academic professionals and industry leaders around the shared mission of creating a better, more sustainable world through the positive power of business. Nipissing recently formed its own SIFE team under the leadership of professor, Dianne Davis, and Nipissing staff Meghan Venasse and Mylae Costello.
Featured on Dragon’s Den, POOK toques, loops (scarves) and dukes (mittens) are made from traditional work socks and make great presents for friends and family.

By contributing their talents to projects that improve the lives of people worldwide, SIFE participants are demonstrating that individuals with a knowledge and passion for business can be a powerful force for change.
