His research interests include History of Political Thought, Bioethics, Canadian Foreign Policy and Philosophy of Technology
His recent publications include his monograph The Great Reversal: How We Let Technology Take Control of the Planet. (Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 2013), the co-edited collections On Oligarchy: Ancient Lessons on Global Politics. Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 2011);Enduring Empire: Ancient Lessons for Global Politics. Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 2009);Confronting Tyranny: Ancient Lessons for Global Politics (Rowman and Littlefield, 2006) as well as the forthcoming chapter “Modern Boredom, the Human Element, and Creative Politics” in Primacy of Persons edited by John von Heyking, (Catholic University Press, 2013). His forthcoming collection Defining Peace: The Question of Peace in Political Philosophy with Wilfred Laurier Press is planned for publication in 2014.
