Two Nipissing University students selected for prestigious Canadian Battlefields Foundation Study Tour
GeneralNipissing University is proud to share that History students, Nelaya Boyd and Aeongus Madigan, have been selected to participate in the highly prestigious Canadian Battlefields Foundation (CBF) Study Tour taking place May 23 to June 8. Each year, only 12 students from across the country are chosen for this immersive educational experience that brings Canada’s military history to life on the very grounds where it unfolded. -
Nipissing University receives transformational gift to expand and enhance rare dementia research, support and education nationally
GeneralEarlier today, Nipissing University announced a transformational $5M investment to support the continued development and national expansion of Rare Dementia Support Canada (RDS Canada). This gift will support the expansion of dementia research, support services, and education, as well as help establish a dedicated space to house RDS Canada - a centre committed to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by rare and young-onset dementias. -
Major grant awarded for evaluation of Rare Dementia Support programs
GeneralFaculty/Staff AwardResearchThe Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Institute of Aging, in partnership with the Institute of Health Services and Policy Research and the Azrieli Foundation and its Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence (CCCE), has announced a significant grant to support a Nipissing University-led project titled "A Realist Evaluation of Rare Dementia Support: Peoples, Spaces and Places." -
Community invited to map the impact of connections at Sip and Sonder event
GeneralResearchNipissing University, in partnership with Brunel University London, the RTOERO Foundation and Rare Dementia Support (RDS) Canada, invites community members to explore the impact of social connections at Sip and Sonder: Connections with Self, Family, Community and the Natural Environment anytime on Wednesday, November 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, November 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the North Bay Museum. -

Today, Nipissing University celebrated the official launch of Rare Dementia Support (RDS) Canada, a national support service for people living with rare or young onset dementia led by Dr. Mary Pat Sullivan, Professor of Social Work and Social Gerontology. -
