The twelfth annual Welcome Powwow at Nipissing University and Canadore College will be held on Friday, September 15, at 11:30 a.m. beside the Education Centre pond.

This August, Enji Giigdoyang, Nipissing’s Office of Indigenous Initiatives, partnered with the Schulich School of Education and Canadore College to pilot a transition program for students relocating to North Bay for post-secondary education.

Shermet approaches academics collaboratively and insightfully. She goes above and beyond in all of her assignments and is always willing to help her peers. Shermet’s love for the teaching profession is evident in her curiosity for learning and in-depth research on how children learn.

Dr. Ping Zou, assistant professor in the School of Nursing, was recently featured in the Registered Nurse Journal, in a feature article titled Making a Difference for Seniors.

Nipissing University is pleased to announce Dr. Arja Vainio-Mattila has been appointed provost and vice-president academic and research. Dr. Vainio-Mattila’s five-year term begins October 10, 2017. She will replace Dr. Harley d’Entremont, who is retiring after concluding a five-year term and a 40-year career in academia.
